Ashanti Law is a talented pianist who currently resides in California.

She is well known for her special renditions of music and usage of dynamics.

Her abilities reside professionally in the genre of Classical and continue to grow in the genre of Jazz. Law also plays weekly at her church and is an alto in the BC College Choir.

Law is currently enrolled in the Jazz Studies program at Bakersfield College and is currently working towards her AA-T degree in Music, and AA-S in Psychology.

Law is also currently apart of the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) and is an Advanced Level piano student.

Law has obtained numerous honors through this association including multiple honors in the state exam Certificate of Merit, two honors in the annual Bach Festival, a trophy win for the 2019 Jazz-Pop Festival & was a scholarship recipient of the 2020 Carol Rodger's Scholarship.

Law also performed at the 2019 MTAC State Convention for improvisation and CM, receiving a 5+ rating on her requested CM jazz piece for the Convention.

Law enjoys mixing both of the genres of Classical & Jazz, and does not like strictly label herself as a Classical pianist, nor a Jazz pianist.

"I remember my first couple of weeks in the BC Jazz program," Law reflects, "and I remember feeling intimidated because I didn't know one bit of jazz theory, and I thought 'Well, maybe I am just a Classical pianist'--but the reality is that I play all sorts of music. I play Classical, I play Jazz, I play church music. I am a pianist--that is it."
