BIO

Ashanti Law is a talented pianist who currently resides in California. She is known for her special renditions of music and usage of dynamics and tone color. Her abilities reside professionally in the genre of Classical and delve into other genres like Jazz and Chamber Music. 

 

During her private studies, Law was a part of the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC), where she completed her ten years of level training. Through this association, Law

has obtained numerous honors including multiple honors in state examinations, two honors in the annual Bach Festival, a trophy win for the 2019 Jazz-Pop Festival & was a scholarship recipient of the 2020 Carol Rodger's Scholarship. In 2019, Law MTAC State Convention for improvisation and CM, receiving a 5+ rating on a jazz arrangement. 

 

While studying in MTAC, Law attended Bakersfield College where she earned her AA-T degree in Music and AA-S in Psychology. Law also sang in the BC College Choir while in attendance.

 

Currently, Law attends CSU Bakersfield as a double major in Music, with an emphasis in Music Education, and Psychology. While pursuing her Bachelor’s, Law continues to deepen her love of the piano, studying under the private instruction of world-class pianist, Dr. Soo-Yeon Park. Law has also had the privilege to work with other world-class musicians like Kris Tiner and Soohyun Cho. Law enjoys playing weekly at her church and in the Chamber Music ensembles at her university.
